Why Safety Signs?

ScannerIt is a legal requirement to display safety signs in all commercial premises. Apart from this legal requirement, it just makes sense to warn staff and visitors of potential hazards and safe practices while in your building.

Life Saving

There are many types of safety sign, the most common one is the running man symbol and the words Fire Exit. This might seem obvious, but these signs are essential to all visitors who are not familiar with the layout of your premises. If the way out is not clearly visible from anywhere in the building, safety signs clearly displaying this message, complete with directional arrows, can save someone’s life in the event of a fire.

Hazard Warning

If you are a manufacturer or a construction company then you will be aware that several of your processes or equipment can also be very dangerous. Sharp tools, deep excavations, hazardous chemicals, or radioactive materials, all pose a risk to health or life. Well positioned safety signs will help to minimise the risks associated with these factors.

Vehicle Driver Safety

Any company that undertakes maintenance on a highway of any description must ensure that it is marked with vehicle graphics that conform to Chapter 8 regulations. These graphics are reflective and protect your workforce from harm.

Public Health

The public have had to become aware of safety signs due to the recent pandemic. Advice on social distancing, mask wearing, and hand sanitisation have been everywhere. It seems that these safety signs have had some effect in generally making people more risk averse. Safety signs are also essential, to promote high levels of hygiene amongst staff in food processing factories and kitchens.

Safety Sign Advice.

Any reputable signmaker will offer free advice to customers about which safety signs to display and where to locate them. Safety signs can also be customised with a company logo, text and diagrams, to cover any site-specific hazard in a building. Most signmakers will also undertake a full safety sign survey to ensure that buildings comply with all relevant legislation.
